Quetta – June 7, 2015
‘Unknown’ terrorists gunned down another five Hazaras in a simultaneous attack on three Hazara businesses on the busiest street of Quetta city. The target were three Hazara businesses on Circular Road. Among the victims are a Hazara father and son. According to BBC Urdu, the assailants were four and came on two motorcycles. The location is within 100 meters of main City Police Station. This is the fifth such attack on Hazaras within two weeks in Quetta.
Quetta is the provincial capital of the restive Balochistan province in which Pakistani State is engaged in a war against the Baloch nationalists fighting for independence of Balochistan.
While the attack has not been claimed by any terrorist outfit yet. However, the 99% of all attacks have been owned by AlQaeda affiliated Lashkar-e Jhangvi (LEJ) terrorists, formerly known as Sipah-e Sahaba Paksitan (SSP) and ‘political wing,’ ASWJ.
The Hazaras accuse the Pakistani State of being complicit with the LEJ terrorists. The terror outfit has links with the main stream political parties of Pakistan such as: Cricker-turned-Politician Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaaf (PTI); Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N); Pashtunkwah Mili Awami Party (PMAP); Jamiat Ulema-e Islam (both JUI-F, FUI-S), among others.
In 2012, Director General of FIA, Mr. Tariq Khosa told the Pakistani Senate that the SSP (parent of LEJ) received official patronage during 80’s from none other than Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Zia-ul Haq.
According to Hazara Organization for Peace and Equality (HOPE), the June7 attack was 177th documented attack on Hazaras by Al-Qaeda affiliated terrorist, killing over 1500, permanently disabling over 4000, and forcing migration of approximately 100,000 Hazaras for safer shores [ See Google Map of all attack locations ].
