Kabul, Afghanistan – Mar 13, 2015 | A Hazara teacher was named among the Top 10 finalist for the ‘Best Global Teacher’ award. Ustad (teacher) Aziz Royesh, locally known by Hazaras as Mualim (teacher) Aziz, is the principal of Marefat High School in Kabul’s Hazara locality of Dashte-Barchi.

Teacher Nancie Atwell from the United States was named winner of the ‘Global Teacher Award’ receiving $1 Million US dollars. The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum – Ruler of Dubai, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates; and former US President, Bill Clinton.
